HCAD GIS es un visor de las propiedades de Harris County (Texas) hecho por LensTech. Esta página explica qué datos tuyos recoge, para qué y cómo pedir que se borren.
Si entras con Google
Iniciar sesión es opcional para ver el mapa. Si entras, Google nos envía tu correo, tu nombre y tu foto de perfil. Los usamos sólo para saber quién eres, si tienes acceso cuando la demo está limitada a invitados, y para enseñarte tu nombre en el menú. No pedimos acceso a tus contactos, tu correo, tus archivos ni nada más de tu cuenta de Google.
Esos datos viajan dentro de una cookie de sesión cifrada que dura hasta 30 días, y se borra al pulsar «Salir». Hoy no los guardamos en ninguna base de datos. Si en el futuro guardamos algo asociado a tu cuenta —por ejemplo, tus listas de comparación—, lo diremos aquí antes.
Lo que se registra en cada visita
- Registro del servidor: la dirección IP, la fecha, la página o dato pedido y el navegador. Sirve para la seguridad del sitio y para contar visitas, y se borra a los 14 días.
- En tu navegador se guardan sólo el idioma y el tema que elijas, para recordarlos la próxima vez.
- «Mi ubicación» usa la posición que te da tu navegador sólo para mover el mapa. No se envía a nuestro servidor ni se guarda.
No usamos publicidad, ni herramientas de analítica de terceros, ni vendemos o compartimos tus datos.
Servicios de terceros
Para dibujar el mapa, tu navegador pide imágenes directamente a otros servicios, que reciben tu dirección IP como en cualquier web: Cesium ion (la foto aérea), Esri y OpenStreetMap (los mapas de calles) y Google (Street View, al abrir la pestaña «Foto», y el propio inicio de sesión). Cada uno tiene su política de privacidad.
Los datos de las propiedades
Valores, dueños, impuestos y características de las propiedades son registros públicos que publica el Harris Central Appraisal District (HCAD), junto con datos públicos de FEMA, la EPA, METRO y OpenStreetMap. No son datos recogidos por este sitio.

HCAD GIS is a property viewer for Harris County, Texas, made by LensTech. This page explains what data about you it collects, why, and how to ask for it to be deleted.
If you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional for viewing the map. If you sign in, Google sends us your email address, name and profile picture. We use them only to know who you are, whether you have access when the demo is limited to invited users, and to show your name in the menu. We do not ask for access to your contacts, email, files or anything else in your Google account.
That data travels inside an encrypted session cookie that lasts up to 30 days and is removed when you sign out. Today we do not store it in any database. If we ever store something tied to your account —for example, your comparison lists— we will say so here first.
What is logged on each visit
- Server log: IP address, date, the page or data requested, and browser. It is used for site security and to count visits, and it is deleted after 14 days.
- In your browser we only store the language and theme you choose, to remember them next time.
- “My location” uses the position your browser provides only to move the map. It is not sent to our server or stored.
We do not use advertising or third-party analytics, and we do not sell or share your data.
Third-party services
To draw the map, your browser requests images directly from other services, which receive your IP address as with any website: Cesium ion (aerial imagery), Esri and OpenStreetMap (street maps) and Google (Street View, when you open the “Photo” tab, and sign-in itself). Each has its own privacy policy.
Property data
Property values, owners, taxes and characteristics are public records published by the Harris Central Appraisal District (HCAD), together with public data from FEMA, the EPA, METRO and OpenStreetMap. They are not collected by this site.
